Books
If you lose or damage a book, you pay the replacement price. This includes textbooks. Textbooks can run anywhere from $80 to $200 so be sure that you are taking good care of them and keeping track of them. Regular library books can be anywhere from $10 to $30. You can view the replacement price on your account next to the checked out item if you are unsure how much it costs.
Technology
The technology checked out on your account is your responsibility. This means that if something on your account gets damaged or lost, it is the responsibility of the person whose account it is checked out on to pay the fine. Do not loan your Chromebook or charger to someone if you don't trust them to return it to you.
Damage costs are as follows:
Screen Replacement: $50
Keyboard Replacement: $50
Chromebook Replacement: $250
Charger Replacement: $30
Fines
At the end of the year, anything not turned in gets fined. Turned in means that it has come through the library and has been scanned through the system. If the barcode of the item that you turn in does not match the barcode of the item checked out on your account, it will not mark it as checked in. The barcodes must match. When a missing or lost item is checked in, the fine associated with it is automatically removed. If you return items after I have left for the summer, it is your responsibility to make sure that any and all items you turn in are labeled with your name. If they are not labeled, I have no way to know they were yours. Fines get paid to Tina Peters in the front office, and you will need to bring the receipt to me as proof that you have paid. Fines can be viewed at any point on your Destiny Discover account. An account summary gets mailed out 2 or 3 times a year, so your guardians will also be aware of any fines you have incurred. If you are a senior and your fines are still unpaid the day before graduation practice, you will not be allowed to walk at graduation.
Printers
Printer ink is incredibly expensive, so don't waste it. Check your documents before you print and make sure everything is correct. Printers are for school use only. If you are using them for things other than school, I have the ability to see who printed what papers, so make good decisions.
